Research interests

Cancer Genetics

My research interests broadly encompass the genetic basis of carcinogenesis. My current work fosuses on the role of genotoxic carcinogens in the genetic selection occurring during the development of lung cancer. This includes the identification of carcinogen-induced genetic alterations and the characterization of their role in lung cancer. My lab also studies the mechanisms of genomic instability in cancer. Of particular interest are the mechanisms by which carcinogens induce genomic instability in lung cancer. This work seeks to identify specific genetic changes that might seve as targets for lung cancer prevention and treatment.
